grentperez' Like A Version included in triple j's 2022 Top 10

Earlier this year, grentperez was asked to record a performance for Australian national broadcaster triple j's infamous Like A Version segment during which artists cover a well-known song in their own style.


triple j have today released a list of the top 10 Like A Version performances of 2022, ranked based on combined views on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and triplej.net.au with grentperez charting at #10. See below for the full top 10. Given that grent is undoubtedly the newest name on the list and that his performance was aired at the end of October, this is no small feat.

The Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter shot straight to the top of the class tackling the big finisher from 2003 comedy School Of Rock. Taking on the role of Jack Black, grentperez and his crack band clearly did their homework, injecting the original with some bedroom pop charm. We'd wager that anyone who hadn't heard of the Unearthed Artist of the Year nominee before this certainly walked away a fan.
